HIV prevention has always been a pillar of our work, and many people don't realize it has changed dramatically over the last decade. Today, people have more tools than ever to protect themselves and stay healthy.
Our prevention efforts now include free HIV testing, education, resources, and connecting people with PrEP, a medication that helps prevent HIV before exposure. When people know their status and have access to prevention tools, our entire community benefits.
We're excited to welcome Myles Tafel, our new Early Intervention Specialist, who is helping expand prevention efforts throughout the Keys.
As Myles heads out into the community, we're looking for local businesses willing to participate as free condom distribution locations. We also offer free pop-up HIV testing at community events, as well as on-site at local businesses for staff or customers.
To learn more about our HIV prevention efforts, including free, confidential testing locations, visit KeysHH.org/health or email Myles.Tafel@KeysHH.org.
